The Young Fellaz Brass Band is a lively second line styled brass band from New Orleans, LA. It began in 2005 originally with humble beginnings, only having 3 members walking around their neighborhood playing their instruments out of the love of music. Over the course of the next 6 years, the band would flourish to 8 members, along with overcoming many obstacles and setting many milestones for such a young group of musicians, such as recording 3 studio albums, numerous festivals in New Orleans, along with performing in many states across the United States. Last time we had the Fellaz get down with us was our huge SXSW Crawfish Boil in 2011 at Shangri La. Excited to have the play our Night Fever monthly for the first time!!!

If ever a band could boast having a complex genealogical tree, that band is Brownout. The eight-piece, Latin funk ensemble based in Austin, Texas, is both offspring and germinating seed to Grammy-Winner Grupo Fantasma.
Brownout may well be Grupo Fantasma's psychedelic Latin funk little brother, an offshoot of the collective that regularly backs Prince, its latest incarnation, or even its alter ego. What they are not is the sprawling conjunto's side project. Brownout has taken Grupo Fantasma's funk roots and blown them up. In the process they've taken on a life and developed a unique sound all their own. Aguilas and Cobras, the group's new album on Six Degrees Records (9/15/09), stands as testament to their one of a kind evolution.

VOL IV The Strange Edition symbolizes four significant moments in time. 1st it's my partner Jeff Strange's BDAY--This dude has been blessing Austin with style, flavor and the dopest events for over a decade! 2nd it's the King of Pop's BDAY--well what can I say... MJ is the KING and we will pay homage at the strike of MIDNITE! 3rd marks 1 year since Soul of the Boot Entertainment and StrangeTribe Productions teamed up in this event promotion hustle. What a run playa! Respect Big Brother. 4th is quite an emotional one for me. The 29th marks the 5 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina which uprooted me and my family from New Orleans-the rich cultural mecca, that has influenced multiple facets of my life. Katrina gave me Austin, though so I am very grateful :) So we decided to use our Night Fever! platform to bring together some of our favorite tastemakers DJ Manny, DJ Resinthol, Nick Nack, Manolo Black, Coolhands, and our host/designer/jack of all DJ Orion for one of the summer's hottest most diverse DANCE parties including LIVE art by b.e.
