Mustafa Akbar a.k.a Mustabar is known for his flavorful marriage of City Slicker with Country Charm that affords him his distinct sound. His sound; an exotic, soulful blend of sophisticated edgy rock, mixed with hip-hop flavored funk, allows an effortlessly flow between the many musical projects he is a part of: electro funk band, Fort Knox Five (Fort Knox Recordings), reggae soul collaboration: Nappy Riddem (Fort Knox Recordings) and Thunderball (ESL Music).
Rex Riddem is a Washington DC based DJ, producer, and percussionist known for his ability to traverse local and time through his eclectic tastes in music. Rex started DJing in the electronic dance scene. With over 15 years experience in the industry, Rex has played clubs and concert halls throughout the U.S. as well as across the globe. He has spread his mix of classic mash-ups, ragga breaks, latin funk, and electro to Brasil, Russia, Portugal, Hawaii, St. John, Mexico, and across the continental U.S. including Las Vegas where he held an eight month residency at Mandalay Bay.
To round out the bill, special guest el john (Thievery Corporation) will lay it down on the percussion! Get ready for some organic grown collaboration! We are excited to have Austin's own Jah Mighty, 1/3 of the deepest Reggae party in Austin, Ring the Alarm, will warm up the stage for our DC guests!
